The relationship between the incidence of chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women and the age of the mother in the village of Tigasan Wetan
Abstrak
Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) is a condition of a person who suffers from chronic (chronic) food shortages, which is characterized by an upper arm circumference (LILA) < 23.5 cm, resulting in health problems. Chronic Energy Deficiency is caused by food intake that does not meet the needs, the age of pregnant women is too young or old, the workload of the mother is too heavy and infectious diseases in pregnant women. This study aims to analyze the relationship between chronic lack of energy in pregnant women and maternal age in Tigasan Wetan Village, Leces District, Probolinggo Regency.
The design of this study was correlational analytic with a population of 56 pregnant women in Tigasan Wetan village. The sampling technique used a portionive sampling with a sample of 49 pregnant women. The instrument used is a Check List sheet. The data was processed by editing, coding, scoring and tabulating processes, then analyzed using the chi-square test.
The results showed that most of the respondents in the non-KEK category were 73.5% (36 respondents). Almost all respondents are in the non-risk category, namely 81.6% (40 respondents). The results of the Chi-Square statistical test showed that there was a relationship between the incidence of chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women and maternal age in Tigasan Wetan Village, Leces District, Probolinggo Regency, (p-valeu = 0.000 < = 0.05).
Pregnant women who experience Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) or malnutrition during pregnancy will cause problems, both for the mother, during labor and for the fetus. Chronic energy deficiency (KEK) in pregnant women requires long-term treatment so that continuous efforts are needed so that nutritional adequacy during pregnancy can be fulfilled optimally.
